Sauna for Weight Loss

Can a Sauna Help Me Lose Weight? Some people believe that weight loss is one more benefit to using a sauna. That is because as you sweat you are in essence burning calories. This calorie burning, despite that relaxed state you feel by being in the sauna is a type of exercising and this is where you’ll lose some weight. Your heart must work harder in the heat as your body is trying to cool itself. These efforts are hard work for your body and this energy use burns calories.

On the other hand, you cannot count the water you lose during a sauna as weight loss because as soon you leave the sauna, you will need to hydrate -- and so will be replenishing the water that has left your body. This will add that same weight back on. This process makes some people believe that there is no weight loss advantage to having a sauna. Yet, many disagree.

If you want to attempt to use the sauna as a weight loss device you can. But bear in mind it means you would be taking a sauna every day. It is easier than putting yourself on a diet where you cannot eat any of the foods you love. Who likes to deny themselves the chocolate cake, pasta fettuccini or burritos one loves to eat? Its easier and safer than taking diet pills which can become addictive. It is easier than exercising at the gym with a bunch of others who are equally desperate to drop a few pounds. If you are going to sweat doing it at home close to your own shower somehow appeals more. The question is do you want to spend time each day in a tiny room that will be over one-hundred degrees so that you can lose some weight? Most people will answer yes to this one.

If you say yes, then you need to commit to a daily program of having a sauna that lasts from fifteen to thirty minutes. That will allow you to lose about three hundred calories, which is equivalent to what you’d lose if you ran two miles.

A device that has been inspired by the sauna is called the sauna belt. Using the same process used by a sauna, the belt will help to melt pounds off. They can reach temperatures as high as seventy degrees Fahrenheit. This belt can dissolve body fat by making you sweat it off and like the sauna you will find it relaxing and comfortable.

Many health spas and diet programs, should you decide you want to investigate these, will recommend using saunas as part of your weight loss program. Many of these programs, as suggested by a diet specialist, will advise you that despite the fact that you can use saunas to effect weight loss that it really is not enough by itself. That you need dietary changes and some exercise to really do a beneficial diet program, not only getting weight off but toning your body as well.
